Motorola CLIQ officially updated

The first Android phone with Motoblur has been updated to version 1.4.8.  While not the long-anticipated Android 2.1 update that was promised to CLIQ users, 1.4.8 is a bundle of performance enhancements that will most likely iron out any bugs that users have been experiencing.  Here is the general list of changes:

  • Relocated “End Call” button
  • Messaging stability enhancement
  • Improved battery life
  • Improved touch screen sensitivity
  • Improved call sound quality
  • Faster GPS performance
  • .wma and .wav support
  • Updated Google Apps
  • Updated Quickoffice

Overall, many users have reported noticeably faster performance when navigating through their phone and launching apps.  Chances are, your CLIQ should have the update by now (April 13, 2010).  If not, try to force one by going to Settings > About Phone > Check for Updates.
